
Tarang Patel has education background in Management and Accounting. He completed his B.B.A. in 1981 in Management accountancy and M.B.A. in 1983 in Marketing Management from very prestigious S. P. University from India.
After completing studies he joined family business of Petroleum Products distribution, where he was responsible for operating L.P. Gas distribution, Industrial Lubricants and other petroleum products in entire state of Gujarat. As a young graduate and a avid motorcyclist, he opened up a Suzuki Motorcycle dealership for Sales, Service and Parts in 1984 and soon became highest selling dealership in India.
In 1990, after immigrated to US, Tarang started working in Hotel Industry in Florida. Until 1995 Tarang managed 3 full service hotels in Daytona Beach Area. He opened and managed 130 rooms Holidays Inn from 1991 till 1993. After that Tarang managed 405 rooms Ramada Resort Convention Hotel with seven F & B outlets and a nightly dinner show and more than 15000 square feet of convention space. In 1994 Tarang managed 180 room multi outlets Days Inn Interstate with its own gas station, IHOP restaurant, gift shop, Car Rental Company. And in 1995 the Hotel was bought by Buckhead America Corporation.
In 1995 Tarang successfully completed C.H.A.
From 1995 through 2001, Buckhead America Corporation was on path of rapid growth where Tarang participated in major strategic decisions and became Regional Vice president of Operations. Tarang’s portfolio included fourteen Hotels in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. Tarang was responsible for all on site operations, staffing, Sales & Marketing initiatives, Budget preparation, and mainly reporting to six different ownership groups as all were third party management contracts. Hotels included five Suburban Lodges, three Country hearth Inns, two full service Best Westerns, three Sleep Inns and one independent Full service resort SilverLeaf Suites. This time Tarang developed new fee management business for Buckhead America. This also gave Tarang opportunity to work with grounds up developments of four brand new Suburban Lodges from Land acquisition to preopening Marketing to successfully running. Tarang became top performing region for five consecutive years with highest profit coming Tarang’s region.
January 2002, Tarang formed Hotel Management Company, specializing in extended Stay Hotels. T. R. Management Corporation was formed and successfully operated seven Suburban Extended Stay Hotels & many mid scale and select service hotels for many Asset management Companies, RIETs and ownership groups. Over the last several years, T. R. Management Corporation has helped several ownership groups building asset value, through the turnaround situations, forensic and aggressive Sales and Marketing, clinical operations and timely accurate reporting.
